Churchfield CE Academy Remote Learning Plan

We have created this plan to support children to ensure that learning is continued, irrespective of lockdown and self-isolation.

This plan will be applied in the following instances:

  1. An individual is self-isolating because of a positive test within the household;
  2. A group of children are self-isolating because of a case of coronavirus in the bubble;
  3. A whole bubble or cohort is self-isolating because of an outbreak of coronavirus

The plan complies with the expectations and principles outlined in the DFE document Guidance for Full Opening of Schools.

We will not be offering live lessons as not all of our families have access to Wi-Fi or a device that can be used in this way.

Software and online platforms

Within all plans, teachers will set appropriate work in-line with our current curriculum. These can be found below clicking on the correct year group. The learning grids match the learning that will be happening in the classroom and are a range of learning activities and paper based tasks.

Staff will remain in contact with their class and children via email and phone. Parents can email their child’s teacher using the following emails:

EYFS (Reception and Nursery) eyfs@churchfield.herts.sch.uk

Key Stage One (Year 1 and 2) ks1@churchfield.herts.sch.uk

Lower Key Stage Two (Year 3 and 4) lks2@churchfield.herts.sch.uk

Upper Key Stage Two (Year 5 and 6) uks2@churchfield.herts.sch.uk

The children will also have access to Sumdog and TT Rockstars to support their learning whilst at home.

In the event of any form of isolation and loss of learning caused by Coronavirus, parents must understand that engagement in home learning is compulsory, as is the expectation that Churchfield CE Academy makes that provision available and accessible to all. However, if children themselves are too ill to attend then they should not be expected to engage in home learning.

Worksheets and Practical Resources

If you do not have access to a printer or stationery at home, we will do our best to support you with this. Please contact the school office and we will try to arrange a delivery of resources so you can continue to support your child.
